Why Join Us as a Tax Assistant Manager?

Our national IRI team combines tax, engineering, science, and technology expertise to serve clients across diverse sectors. We focus on providing top-tier innovation advisory services, leveraging R&D tax credits, Patent Box, and other incentives. We’re looking for a candidate with a background in science or engineering to help lead clients through our innovation advisory services.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Lead meetings with senior technical and financial stakeholders, providing insights on R&D tax claims, Patent Box, and grant applications.
  • Project Management: Oversee client projects, managing both tax and technical elements, while handling resource needs.
  • Claim Methodology: Develop and oversee methodologies for preparing R&D tax relief claims to submit to HMRC.
  • Client Relationships: Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, supporting their R&D tax incentive needs.
  • Reporting: Guide the preparation of high-quality documentation on clients’ projects for tax claims and funding applications.
  • Mentorship: Train and support junior staff, helping them grow within the team.
  • Business Development: Contribute to new business pitches and presentations as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field. IT industry experience is a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of R&D tax legislation, with experience in science or technology fields.
  • Communication: Ability to discuss complex tax concepts with clients who may not have prior experience in tax law.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects effectively, including managing workloads and delegating tasks.
  • Additional Certifications: Professional tax or accounting qualifications (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) are beneficial but not required.
