Role Responsibilities

In this position, you’ll:

  • Be the primary contact for many clients on day-to-day tax matters, supporting larger clients alongside senior managers, directors, or partners.
  • Contribute to tax advisory and planning work within your client portfolio, delivering specialized expertise to the local market.
  • Support business development efforts and attend client events.
  • Review corporation tax computations, provide guidance on complex tax matters, and manage tax payments, loss relief, and other claims.
  • Coordinate responses to client requests for additional KPMG services, serving as the single contact point to deliver cross-tax solutions.
  • Delegate tasks to junior team members, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Mentor junior staff, contributing to their professional development.
  • Manage client account finances, raising fees regularly and identifying billing opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate internal records, ensuring quality control compliance.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of UK corporate tax and general accountancy principles, including tax accounting and disclosures.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay composed under deadlines.
  • A high level of motivation, with enthusiasm and resilience when working under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality services and products to clients.
  • A client-focused, practical approach to problem-solving and a high level of commercial awareness.
  • Accountability and initiative in your work, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an open and clear communication style.
  • The ability to work well within a team, offering guidance and constructive feedback to junior colleagues.
  • A collaborative approach that fosters respect and cooperation among colleagues, clients, and the broader community.
