Job Description
Role Overview
As an Associate Director in Financial Planning, you will focus on cultivating and developing trusted relationships with both current and potential clients. You will be responsible for delivering tailored financial planning and wealth management advice in alignment with an agreed business plan. All client advice must be personalized, suitable, and compliant with our advisory and control policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and address client needs proactively.
- Execute the annual Business Plan, meeting individual targets.
- Establish new client relationships while maintaining and developing existing ones through exceptional service, leading to minimized attrition and increased referrals.
- Conduct and lead client meetings professionally, ensuring that all information and advice shared is current, technically accurate, and aligned with clients’ objectives.
- Provide clients with appropriate advice for achieving their financial goals, considering aspects like retirement planning, inheritance, and tax efficiency.
- Conduct annual client reviews in line with changing risk appetites and strategic requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Investment Management (IM) and Professional Services (PS) to enhance client relationships.
- Develop and maintain connections with Centers of Influence (COIs) to foster relationships with professional advisors.
- Maintain the New Business Pipeline (NBP), ensuring that all details are current and accurate.
- Keep comprehensive client records that are consistently up to date, adhering to Group policy.
- Strive for zero complaints, promptly addressing any issues with the Client Resolution team to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills in line with industry and regulatory standards (for team heads only).
- Supervise direct reports, ensuring adherence to Training & Competence (T&C) regulations and suitability processes, with all documentation completed and submitted appropriately.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working with new and existing clients on a fee basis.
- Clear communication skills to articulate advice practices and processes effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to assess client information and make appropriate recommendations.
- Technical knowledge of holistic financial planning strategies and solutions, with the ability to communicate them effectively.
- A client service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with operating within a risk management framework, with a thorough understanding of the associated risks and threats in a private client business.
Qualifications
- A relevant level 4 qualification or higher (with aspirations for Level 7) and a current Statement of Professional Standing.
