We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Zürich, Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in corporate services, accounting, and payroll, and possess the ability to manage multiple client relationships and internal teams.

Job Description

As a Senior Accountant in Zurich, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of various mandates, including client service, payroll, and accounting services. You will maintain close relationships with clients, external auditors, tax consultants, and other parties involved in transactions. Your tasks will include regular meetings and contact with these stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (OR / Swiss GAAP FER, possibly IFRS).
• Prepare payroll and salaries, including tax withholding and relevant insurance filings.
• Set up client master data and manage the opening of bank accounts.
• Ensure timely payments and invoicing, avoiding deductions and write-offs.
• Prepare and submit VAT and corporate tax returns on time.
• Review and approve timesheets for clients.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A degree or certification in accounting or a related field (e.g., Swiss fiduciary qualification).
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of Swiss corporate tax regulations is ideal.
• Fluent in both English and German (French and Italian are a plus).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong management and organizational abilities.
• Advanced analytical skills for financial reporting.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication in English and German.
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.

Education:

• Completed education as a fiduciary expert with an Eidg. Fachausweis or equivalent.
• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within Swiss corporate accounting or fiduciary services.
• Prior experience handling payroll, VAT, and corporate tax filings.
• Proven track record in client relationship management.
