Job Overview

We’re looking for a Retail Key Account Manager who can lead daily operations, optimize profitability, and foster strong connections with major retail clients. This role requires an individual who is proactive, strategic, and passionate about achieving sales targets while upholding brand standards.

Key Responsibilities Account Manager Lusaka Zambia

  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop tailored sales and marketing strategies to maximize growth across assigned territories and accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with key clients, ensuring client loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Customer Needs Analysis: Thoroughly understand client requirements, proactively offering solutions that align with their goals.
  • Business Development: Identify and evaluate new sales opportunities, grow the mid-market, and expand the Tier 1 client base.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to align sales strategies with company objectives.
  • Product Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of products, manage expectations, and maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any client issues to maintain strong partnerships.
  • Sales Reporting: Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and account metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows and conventions, staying informed on industry trends.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven sales expertise and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related commercial field
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Retail Sales and Marketing, preferably in FMCG
  • Proven B2B Key Account Management experience
  • Skilled in building client relationships across various organizational levels
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Membership with ZIM is required
