Job Description

As a Lead Data Engineer at Dynatrace, you will oversee the creation of scalable data pipelines in the Snowflake ecosystem, enabling efficient data management for enterprise analytics. You’ll guide a team of data engineers, helping to manage the technical transformation of business data into actionable insights. Your expertise will directly impact data quality, governance, and security, supporting informed decision-making across our global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Development: Lead design and implementation of robust data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, Fivetran, and other third-party tools.
  • Data Strategy: Contribute to data engineering strategies, optimizing data management for operational and analytics needs.
  • Technical Guidance: Act as a technical lead for cross-functional collaboration with Data Modeling, BI, and Data Governance teams.
  • Vendor Coordination: Oversee technical engagements with data engineering vendors.
  • Data Standards: Ensure data engineering standards align with best practices in governance, quality, and security.
  • Tech Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and methodologies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a data engineering role with a focus on business operations data.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Snowflake, Spark, and Python for data pipeline development.
  • API Integration: Strong experience acquiring data from REST APIs.
  • Database Knowledge: Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, and data warehousing.
  • CI/CD Proficiency: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification: Snowflake certification or equivalent data engineering certifications are preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in data engineering, with specific experience in business operations data transformation and technical team leadership.
