Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Operations Lead, you will play a vital role in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking processes within our finance department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the Finance Team: Oversee the Finance Officers to ensure all purchase ledger invoices and tenant refunds are processed and paid promptly.
- Invoice Management: Ensure that invoices are scanned and processed within designated timescales.
- Supplier Reconciliation: Review monthly supplier statements, follow up on any discrepancies, and ensure accurate reconciliations.
- Issue Escalation: Report any issues in the purchase ledger or with suppliers to the Finance Manager during weekly meetings.
- Purchase Ledger Management: Manage the purchase ledger module within our housing system, including the setup and management of supplier accounts.
- Payment Processing: Prepare, review, and transmit supplier payment runs in line with ALS payment schedules.
- Month-End Procedures: Complete month-end tasks, ensuring effective closure of the accounts payable system in line with deadlines.
- Query Resolution: Monitor relevant purchase ledger mailboxes to resolve queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders promptly.
- Tenant Refunds: Ensure all tenant and local authority refunds are approved, paid correctly, and coded appropriately.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations within prescribed timeframes.
- Reporting: Generate purchase ledger aging analysis and supplier payment date reports, and oversee banking and accounts receivable activities.
About You
Required Skills and Experience
To be successful as a Financial Operations Lead, you should possess:
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a supervisory transactional finance role or as a Financial Operations Lead.
- Finance Operations Knowledge: A solid understanding of finance operations principles and practices.
- Process Management: Proven ability to manage processes and maintain financial records within deadlines.
- Customer Service Orientation: A commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Leadership Skills: A blend of hands-on experience and strong leadership capabilities.
