Role Overview

As a Financial Accounting and Advisory Specialist Manager, you’ll be an essential member of our rapidly expanding national team. Your role involves handling complex projects that apply accounting standards such as FRS 102, IFRS, and FRS 101. Additionally, you’ll support group restructurings, accounting transitions across GAAPs, and assist with acquisition-related financial matters.

You’ll also be responsible for overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101, while mentoring junior staff and playing an active role in business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coaching junior team members in preparing financial statements that adhere to FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Leading complex client projects, such as IFRS transition consultations and acquisition accounting, while providing support on intricate consolidations.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, solving issues, and ensuring excellent client service.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients and projects, overseeing client care, project delivery, and billing processes.
  • Collaborating with other departments, especially audit and corporate tax teams, to meet deadlines and resolve significant issues promptly.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members, participating in training and offering opportunities for career growth.
  • Some travel to client locations may be required, though much of the work is office-based within our dynamic team.

Personal and Professional Qualities

  • ACA qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting.
  • Background in professional practice, ideally in accounting advisory or providing written accounting guidance to clients.
  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, and ability to manage client relationships.
  • Experience in supervising junior staff and handling client communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
