Job Description

As a Client Service Manager at Northern Trust, you will be a key consultant to institutional clients, supporting their needs through customized financial services and innovative solutions. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their business objectives, address inquiries, manage client profitability, and contribute to the development of long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Consulting: Act as the main consultant to clients, assisting with process improvements and implementing Trust and Custody services.
• Client Satisfaction: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely deliverables and resolve client concerns effectively.
• Business Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of client objectives, goals, and challenges.
• Relationship Management Support: Work alongside Relationship Managers to counsel clients on bank products, legal changes, and emerging financial issues.
• Solution Development: Collaborate on client solutions, coordinate presentations, and bring in experts to deliver new services smoothly.
• Client Profitability: Manage and enhance client profitability by identifying service expansion opportunities.
• Client Site Visits: Travel to client locations as needed to support business opportunities or relationship development.

• Organizational Skills: Demonstrated time management skills with attention to detail.
• Legal Acumen: Ability to understand and interpret Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with knowledge of reconciliation and payment processes.

Highly Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with registry systems and custodial services.
• Knowledge of derivatives, trust, or asset management.
• Understanding of alternative assets and finance.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
