Key Responsibilities

• Advisory Services: Provide finance transformation and CFO advisory services to government clients, enhancing the efficiency of finance functions.
• Project Management: Collaborate on a range of client projects including financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, delivering insights and recommendations to improve finance structures.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including those in Audit, Risk Advisory, and Consulting, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
• Professional Development: Participate in Deloitte’s training programs and development opportunities, and contribute to business development efforts.

About the Team

Deloitte’s Canberra CFO Advisory team specializes in finance function transformation, CFO advisory for Government, financial management, and Federal Government budget management. We help clients enhance their finance operations to drive effective and efficient outcomes in sectors like Defence, Federal Government, and Intelligence. Our Canberra team is known for its supportive and collaborative culture, focused on coaching and helping each team member achieve their career goals.

Skills / Experience / Education

Skills:

• Technical and/or management accounting skills
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Understanding of Government finance functions is desirable

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in finance, accounting, external audit, or related fields
• Proven client relationship and project management experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CA or CPA certification (or working towards it)

Additional Requirements:

• Australian citizenship and/or Federal Government security clearance is essential for many client engagements
