Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Audit team in Cambridge as a Senior Manager.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of audit clients and assist Partners with client engagements, business development, and group management. You may also participate in special assignments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management:
- Deliver efficient and proactive services, exceeding client expectations throughout the year.
- Coordinate with client Partners and Evelyn Partners staff to ensure effective communication and updates.
- Oversee audit work, including budget setting and understanding the commercial aspects of clients’ businesses.
- Organize timelines, staff bookings, and the planning and completion of audits and related assignments.
- Stay informed about compliance developments and their implications for clients.
- Handle client billing efficiently.
Staff Management:
- Organize and assign tasks to team members, ensuring clarity in expectations and deadlines.
- Provide training and constructive feedback to staff, addressing workload issues as they arise.
- Ensure assessment forms are completed and feedback is provided for all jobs.
- Foster communication with junior staff to resolve any challenges.
- Pursue personal and team training opportunities.
Business Development:
- Prepare proposals for new business opportunities.
- Attend marketing events and present at seminars when needed.
- Engage in client segment focus groups and develop personal contacts to identify opportunities for Evelyn Partners.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
- An accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, or ACCA.
- Significant external audit experience within a professional services environment.
- Experience working with entrepreneurial, OMB, SME, and AIM-listed clients.
- A proactive approach to business development, including proposal preparation and networking.
- A strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards and their industry applications.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, partners, and staff.
- Proven experience in managing and motivating teams to achieve optimal performance.
- Strong organizational skills to balance the needs of clients, partners, and staff while monitoring costs against budget.
