Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for a skilled individual to join our Audit team in Birmingham. In the role of Audit Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing the audit process for various assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in regular discussions with clients to track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and set realistic expectations.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement based on your work.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members.
  • Complete assessment forms for the audit team.
  • Perform audits following established procedures.
  • Prepare draft accounts, reports, and completion memos, noting any control weaknesses or areas for enhancement for review by the manager.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven UK audit and accounting experience gained within a professional services firm.
  • Strong communication skills for internal collaboration and client interactions.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising others and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Ability to organize your work and that of others to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Local market experience is preferred.
