Role Overview
As the Accounting and Financial Reporting Assistant Manager, you will assist managers in delivering profitable services to a range of corporate clients. Your focus will be on complex financial reporting and consolidations, while managing a portfolio of corporate and not-for-profit clients.
You will also lead a team of staff to ensure excellent client service is delivered at all times. This role is available in our Newcastle, Leeds, and Hull offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, always delivering top-tier client service.
- Manage a small portfolio of corporate clients within the firm’s budget, addressing key points raised during assignments.
- Plan and confirm assignments according to company procedures, including setting costs and billing arrangements.
- Provide feedback and guidance to junior team members, ensuring continuous learning and development.
- Maintain and enhance your technical expertise through ongoing learning and meeting professional body CPD requirements.
- Oversee complex aspects of assignments, ensuring they are completed accurately and in line with firm standards.
- Brief, supervise, and mentor junior staff, reviewing their work for quality and completeness.
- Support any additional tasks as assigned by your line manager or department head.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified ACA or ACCA.
- Strong understanding of UK financial reporting standards.
- Experience in handling complex consolidations.
- Commercial awareness and ability to add value to client engagements.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Well-organized with strong time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Corporate Taxation.
