Introduction to the Assurance & Business Services Team
The Assurance & Business Services team at Evelyn Partners plays a crucial role in providing reassurance to businesses and stakeholders about their financial performance, even when a full audit isn’t necessary. This team serves a diverse range of clients, from small businesses and family enterprises to non-profit organizations, both in the UK and internationally.
What You Will Be Doing
As a member of the Assurance & Business Services team, you will engage directly with client finance teams of varying seniority, from Accounts Assistants to Financial Directors. Your working environment will vary based on the engagement—sometimes at client offices and other times at Evelyn Partners offices. You will work collaboratively to deliver assurance, advice, and impactful solutions.
The audit process consists of three main phases: Planning, Fieldwork, and Completion. Each phase may last from one week to several months, depending on the complexity of the client. You will gain valuable exposure to various businesses, helping you develop the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective auditor and trusted advisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members on various audit and accountancy tasks.
- Develop an understanding of clients and their business operations.
- Keep senior stakeholders updated on project progress.
- Become proficient in our audit and accounting software.
- Resolve audit and accountancy-related queries.
- Prioritize tasks while managing time effectively against budgets.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be in your penultimate year of university.
- Be on track for at least a predicted 2:2 degree in any discipline.
- Have a minimum of 112 UCAS points in your top three A Levels (or equivalent), excluding General Studies.
- Achieve a minimum Grade 5 (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths at GCSE level.
